challenge accepted.

I don't want to be lost into oblivion.
I must be able to leave a legacy.
Time is running out.
I must work hard.

almost.

MY first year of med is almost through. Only two more modules to go and my brain is really tired. So far, my grades are not that stellar but I'm still hanging on. Honestly, there have been a couple of times that I ask myself whether If I really cut out to be a doctor. But just as I was very close to giving up, we had an OB rotation in QMMC. We watched a natural vaginal delivery and I even got a chance to assist!

Being in the hospital and seeing that baby born, I told myself, 'I am meant to be here'.

Happy New Year!

“ANOTHER fresh new year is here . . .
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!

This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . .
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!

I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!”

fight!

FOR all the times that quitting seems to be the easiest way out.

Yes, it will be hard.
Yes, you'll definitely get tired.
But, trust me, it will be all worth it.

"Umiikot ang mundo. Hindi pwedeng nakatayo lang tayo rito."

now.

LET me start my new entry (after being on hiatus for a long time) with a passage from one entry I have read online,

We have been born for greatness. Not for the selfish satisfaction of fulfilled ambition, but rather for the addition of significance and contribution to the breathing multitude called homo sapiens.(sic)

It has been about a month since I started medical school and boy, am I STRESSED! Now that I am here, I really have to work very hard. It is no longer enough to just get by. To quote one of my classmates, "Mahirap na maging olats na doctor." But amidst all the sleepless nights, caffeine intoxication and stress, I don't have any regrets at all in choosing this field because I know soon enough, all of these is going to pay off and I would be great and I would be able to add a significant contribution to the breathing multitude of Homo sapiens.
